spindizzy: Relax we've got two or three hours before the rioting starts (Rioting)

I caught up with where I got to the first time I played Dragon Quest Builders 2! Spoilers for the post-Moonbrooke return to the island, obviously.

Me: It's okay, I am definitely ready for the confrontation, I'm not happy about it but I'm braced!
Malroth: You didn't even visit me. You only let me out because you needed me to fight for you. You're disgusting.
Me: BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED! ;___________________________________;

So yeah, I'm definitely okay. And definitely fine with going around to the new Explorers' Shores without Malroth there to be excited about seeing sheep for the first time. And totally didn't just do the minimum that the plot required of me to make the castle on the Cerulean Steppes livable and then leave. That would be mean.

... But seriously, I'm pretty sure that the Hairy Hermit is going to reveal itself to be Hargon in like five minutes. There is no reason for it to ask me to come to its mountaintop ALONE when its been cool with everyone and their friends coming along for all of our other discussions. And its reaction to rumours of the world being fake was EXTREMELY suspicious. I'm assuming it wants me to build this big colourful symbol to royally aggravate Malroth's destruction powers and kick off the end-game! Look, I can't relax into to chilling out and fixing up my island until I know whether the game expects me to punch Malroth now or later. I am under strict instructions to punch him if he starts acting like somebody else! He told me to do it!

... Not to mention I'm still feeling very betrayed that the Moonbrooke lot got to apologise to Malroth without explaining that they're why the builder didn't free him earlier. The builder can't apologise! And people keep telling her to make friends with him again, and I'm just here like "1) There is not a law saying that he HAS to be friends with the builder, and 2) even if there was, that is way more advanced fixing than she can do on her own, okay, and 3) THERE HASN'T BEEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO APOLOGISE YET, WHAT THE HELL GAME." EVEN IF HE DOESN'T ACCEPT IT, PLEASE LET ME HAVE THAT CONVERSATION.

Is this how normal people feel about faceless, voiceless protagonists and their relationships in other games? I don't think I have enough emotional energy to be this invested in multiple characters whose personality we get exclusively through other people!

Anyway, my plan for this weekend is to just steamroll through the plot, and get the pain over with, and then if the game lets me keep building I can go and do my ridiculous projects then. Wish me luck!
