spindizzy: Kyoko stretching and looking smug. (*smug*)
I think I mentioned that Lex found a new non-Fate related anime for us to watch! (This is a big deal because his tolerance for the male gaze/"boring straight dude collects harem of more interesting and competent female characters" is a lot higher than mine, so we don't get to watch many things together!) It is an isekai harem anime – my understanding is that isekai are basically portal fantasies, but the only way through the portal is death? – but it's super queer and has a female lead accidentally collecting a mixed-gender harem that she's not interested in (yet?), so it's immediately more relevant to my interests. Is it going to end with a canon queer relationship? Don't know, but according to the Crunchyroll site they can't show it in Russia so the implication was too much for SOMEONE.

... Listen, I am very pro people taking boring generic fantasy tropes and rubbing our queer little hands over them. And the main character, regardless of whatever her romantic preferences turn out to be, is the most useless lesbian to ever grace my screens and I love her. And quite frankly I'm very here for Lex's talent for finding shows for us to watch that are a) queer-coded magical girls, or b) 1920s dramas full of murder. One day he'll find a show that is both and I am going to just collapse from glee.

(This reminds me, I need to play more Fire Emblem. And also judge the living shit out of the character designer.)

So yes, as is tradition: now is the time for me to capslock wildly, because shoujo nonsense makes my heart do the smiley emote.

spindizzy: Raven looked shocked and appalled. (You what?!)
Hey sweetpeas, everything is on fire and I am collecting links for places to donate and resources for reading and just... Whatever I can find that seems legit, basically, because there's so much going past right now. If in doubt, there are lists here with concrete actions that you can take, and that's where I've started.

I don't have anything to say that hasn't been said a thousand times and better. Stay safe.
