Not gonna lie, I'm confused by the title of "one pan roast beef". How many
pans does it USUALLY take to roast beef?

- It's CHRISTMAS! Omg, yay, it's the CHRISTMAS EPISODE, this is
so pure and good. - (LOOK AT ILYA IN HER PARTY DRESS THOUGH, SHE'S SO PRECIOUS!)
- Yeah, what's the point of having a castle if you don't go hard into
parties? - ... That's an adorably tiny Christmas tree, bless. But of course Ilya
is complaining. - Awww, it's so pretty and sparkly! And everyone's dressed up for
Christmas! - ... I just made myself sad because I just remembered that NO ONE IN
THIS CAR HAS A FAMILY OF ORIGIN. They have built themselves a new family
together and that is good and worthy of celebration, I'm just having an
emotion about four orphans, two homunculi, and three mythological figures
being together as a family, and ahhhhhhhhhh. My heaaaaaart! - (Also I was honestly slightly startled to see Leys drive, I forgot
that the hormunculus could do that! Despite the fact that Saber literally
came into existence knowing how to fly a plane! (Yes, that is canon.)) - Of course Shirou wants to help set-up. OF COURSE.
- THEY ARE SUCH KIDS AND THEY'RE SO PRECIOUS.
- OH NO, THAT IS NOT A SHORTCUT. *drives off a cliff*
- I??? Love Rider????????
- Sella is so not okay with Other People being in her kitchen.
- It's very cute that Ilya has a tiny chair in the kitchen.
- She takes feeding Ilya VERY seriously, apparently.
- THE FAMILY IS HELPING TO SERVE CHRISTMAS DINNER AND EVERYONE IS
DRESSED SO FANCILY AND I AM JUST A BALL OF EMOTIONS. ;____; - Shirou, you damn well better be dressed as fancy as the girls under
that apron. - Waaaaaaaaaaaah I'm overcome!
- I love all the flowers when people eat food.
- I'm concerned that he didn't put the meat straight in the fridge even
though it was in a cooling bag. - OH, it wasn't supposed to be in the fridge??
- Fillet mignon sounds expensive.
- I like that everyone gets different flowers for their food.
- Sella, if the quality of the meat bothers you, YOU COULD HAVE PAID FOR
IT. - OH, it was a backhanded compliment, got it!
- This castle looks haunted as all hell. ._.
- Hey, I wonder where the other two servants are, because this is going
to end badly. - (Poor Archer, why does he not get to do Christmas with his
family?!) - Wow, that's turning into a proper snowstorm.
- I'm not gonna lie, that jump scare GENUINELY GOT ME AND I JUMPED IN MY
CHAIR. - HI HERCULES, YOU ARE A NIGHTMARE BEAST.
- Illya: *is full of joy at the tree*
- WOW, they work fast.
- Oh, I never noticed that one of his eyes was permanently red.
- ILLYA BAKED HIM A COOKIE AND DECORATED IT TO LOOK LIKE HIM, THAT IS
THE MOST PRECIOUS THING, AUGH. - SHE IS SO TINY, HE CAN LITERALLY LIFT HER ONE HANDED.
- Oh, this is the most precious thing.
- He is trying so hard to be delicate with all these tiny fragile
things! ;_; - *wails quietly into the night, because oh my god this show is too
pure* - Potato pancake recipe: shallow fry grated potatoes. Thassit. That's
the recipe. - Roast beef recipe: first, let the meal sit until it's at room
temperature, and then salt it generously. Rub the salt and the mashed
garlic into the meat well. Wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rest for 15
to 30 minutes, allowing the flavours to settle. Next, pour some oil into
the frying pan, and cook the mashed garlic pieces used to season the meat
over low heat until it's fragrant. Take out the garlic pieces, turn up the
heat, then put the meat in the pan. Cook all four sides, two minutes each,
browning each surface well. Put the lid on, turn off the heat, and let the
residual heat cook it further for five minutes. Turn the meat over, put the
lid back on, and cook on very low heat for three to four more minutes.
Pierce the meat in the center with a skewer for a few seconds, then check
it by placing it under your lip. If the skewer feels warm, that's a sign
that it's been cooked though. Finally, season the entire block of meat
generously with coarsely ground pepper. Immediately wrap the cooked meat
with plastic wrap and aluminium foil. Let it rest for about thirty minutes
and you're done!
