(Hi, I'm literally dozing off at my keyboard, apologies for any missing words.)

HI EVERYONE, IT IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I AM VERY EXCITED! I'm thirty this year! That seems like one hell of an achievement when there's been so many times when I've not expected to make it this far, but HI I AM STILL HERE.

Today has been a good day! I was in work this morning (I'm on a term-tide contract, where I get summers off but can't take leave) and that was an unfortunately literal shitshow that I fortunately only had to deal with tangentially. Then Matt, Lex and I went to the cat café in town and saw MANY SMALL KITTENS and got to pet the Main Coone that lives there! (Seriously, his is the bigggest cat that I've ever seen. I LOVE HIM!) There was also a cat-sized hamster whell, which was fantastic.

After, we went out separate ways, and it turns out that Lex – who does not bake at all– BAKED ME A CAKE FOR MY BIRTHDAY! It's super sweet and I'm super proud of him for doing it, he's amazing and I love him. ♥ But we had cake, everyone but me napped, then we decided that the only way to celebrate is to play boardgames in the pub! It was just such a lovely day, and I'm so grateful that we pulled it together!

I'm very excited about being thirty. I've done SO MUCH WORK over the last few years on being the best Susan I could be. Therapy! Meds! Treating my mental illness and trying to find workarounds for the stuff that isn't fixed yet!)

I guess what I really wanted to say was thank you. Some of you have known me since I was like fourteen, and a fool, and right now I'm just intensely grateful that all of you stuck around to see the person I'm doing to become? I appeciate it, and you, and I'm glad you're all here.
