RIGHT. MUSIC. I say, as though I haven't been listening to probably the same three songs on a loop for a month.

  • Let's Do It (The Ballad of Barry and Freida) by Victoria Wood — I need you to know two things about me. 1) Any time I hear the words "Let's do it," my brain immediately fills in "I'm on fire / with desire / I could handle half the tenors in a male voice choir!" ... Yes, exactly like when someone says "Let's get down to business" and Mulan happens. 2) I'm 90% sure that Victoria Wood had the classier version of my home accent. Which makes sense, we're from the same neck of the woods, but IT'S WEIRD.

  • A Little Bit Off Today by Five Finger Death Punch — Oh look, youtube found me a song for how my brain's been!

  • Left Me For Dead by Rob Dougan — I don't know why all of the Rob Dougan songs I hear are about murder, but I support this.

  • This Year by Mountain Goats — I AM GONNA MAKE IT / THROUGH THIS YEAR / IF IT KILLS ME.

  • Mulder and Scully by Catatonia — Do you ever suddenly remember a song you saw on Top of the Pops when you were tiny, and discover it was actually real? ... In unrelated news, things are getting strange and I'm starting to worry!

  • Babylon by Five Seconds of Summer — I still don't know why I'm convinced there's a techno version of this but I haven't found it yet.

  • Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons — Lex is working on his FST for Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: {Rail Zeppelin} Grace Note (I know that's not the longest title I've seen, but I think it's longest that hasn't been an actual sentence), and obviously this meant that I had to go back to my inexplicably-linked-to-Waver-Velvet song because of who I am as a person.
