G | 100 words | Oz, Break; Alice and Raven mentioned | Minor spoilers for volume 2, but not based off canon events | What happened isn't as important as the story they tell afterwards.
The story gets revised a little more each time he tells it, just to make it a little more bearable. He plays up his role, against his own favour. He laughs and looks suitably embarrassed – chased by Chains and almost kidnapped, all in one day! He plays the fool, so proud of Alice for beating all who came near.
He glosses over Gilbert's role, cooing about how brave and strong he was. He doesn't mention how the binding on Alice got lifted. Why Gilbert isn't here correcting him. He paints over it with words, and smiles.
And Break smiles back.
