Reaction Shot: She-Ra episode 6 (or, I NEED THE COMIC BOOK SPIN-OFF, STAT!)

Man, this episode faked me out really well on who was a villain and who wasn't.

• WHY IS THERE AN EVIL BAKER IN THE FRIGHT ZONE ALSO I WANT HER TO BE MY NEXT CHARACTER SHE IS SO SOFT AND PASTEL AND OMINOUS.


• They're all so cute? What good designs?


• ALSO have you noticed that all of the people who are part animal are with the Horde, and all of the people with magic powers are with the Rebellion? What are the Horde doing to people over there? Or what is Bright Moon doing to people that they're NOT sprouting animal bits?


• (Wait, why is Bright Moon a rebellion when they're unconquered territory? Don't you need to be like, rebelling against YOUR oppressors to be a rebellion?)


• The little robot with his cute bow-tie is cute. Look at his tweaking it!


• I wonder if this route is going to be important for later, because I 100% don't remember it at all.


• WHY IS HER HAIR TENTACLES.


• Her character design is cute too. I'm so sad she's evil.


• LOOK SHE HAS A CHAIR MADE OF HAIR, AND AN INTEREST IN FIRST WORLD BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY, AND ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD FOR DANGER OR HER OWN SAFETY.


• Oh, she's a PRINCESS! Whoops! I have no idea why I assumed that she was Horde except for maybe the lightning and the robots. (I only figured it out because she's in the opening credits.)


• Etheria has a maker's community and Bow makes TINY BOWS AND FIREWORK-ARROWS, this is so precious!


• "When will we ever need a sonic arrow?" THIS EPISODE PROBABLY.


• Look at those assholes laughing AT Bow instead of with him, is this one of those episodes where everyone's characterisation is left of true because we're focusing on a character that gets less screentime?


• Well, Adora just shrugged off a tactical hazard that Bow was explaining so that she could be a dick with magical powers so I guess YES IT IS. But on the plus side, we get to see that Adora's transformation sequence DOES take place in the real world and not a pocket dimension, and Bow's ENTIRE FACE when he's watching this definitely not silent transformation is a picture.


• This reminds me of pretty much any episode where Sokka has to be the voice of reason in Avatar, okay.


• I see, she's called Entrapta because she builds traps! This is suspiciously logical, and leads to questions about naming customs in this world. Like, do people pick their own names when they've established what their power set is? Did someone just look at Bow when he was born and go "You're gonna be SO GOOD with arrows?"


• Oh sweet Christ did they just LEAVE BOW BEHIND. WHY IS HE BEING LEFT.


• ... Entrapta just has evil dramatic lighting, that's cool.


• This looks like a zombie episode, ngl.


• "Princesses! I'm saved!" THE FIRST TIME ANYONE HAS SAID THAT ALL SHOW.


• "It's normally really fun around here but it's right now it's a teensy bit deadly."


• At least the kitchen staff made it out okay! That's fine then! And they're saving Bow!


• "Princess Entrapta only eat tiny food." ... Wut.


• "Why did you invent killer robots?" ASKING THE REAL QUESTIONS HERE.


• "You're abnormally tall." Also ENTRAPTA DON'T JUST ASK A LADY IF YOU CAN TOUCH HER SWORD, THAT'S RUDE.


• What I'm taking from this is that if Entrapta has a story arc, it might have to be "and then I developed a sense of danger!"


• NO THE CUTE KITTEN PICTURE! ;_____;


• "Isn't it adorable?" ENTRAPTA, NO.


• AND THIS IS WHY LONG HAIR TENTACLES ARE BAD LAB SAFETY EVEN IF IT'S COOL TO HAVE EXTRA HANDS.


• ... Wait, Entrapta was trying to fuse current tech and First One's Tech.
  
  And She-Ra's sword is First One's tech.
  
  ... Oh noooooooooooooooo


• Wow, they literally BSoDed She-Ra.


• YES, BOW AND THE STAFF ARE ADORABLE AND COMPETENT! Look at him taking down those bots! And the baker being the one to open the door! And that guy bravely being live bait! And the little one knocking a bot out with a cupboard! BEST TEAM!


• Hey, Adora's back! Ish!


• "Why are we whispering?"


• "OH, THOSE robots1


• Adora seems kinda drunk, tbh.


• ... Are Entrapta's parents robots?


• Glimmer HATES being the responsible adult. She HATES it.


• OF COURSE THE DOOR IS EVIL, EVERYTHING HERE IS EVIL.


• I assume they're going to have to go through the rubbish chute because that's how this trope usually works?


• "That is so smart. And awful. We're all gonna die." EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT JUST ELECTROCUTED YOU THERE.


• "It's a date!" I bet Glimmer can't wait.


• Heeee. I LOVE that they've just embraced "We don't need to see what's happening on the other side of this door" because it's GREAT. And in this case, explains why they don't just let Glimmer solve this problem with teleportation!


• SHE BEHEADED THAT ROBOT WITH A TEA-TRAY, I LOVE HER.


• "Look, they're princesses, they have powers. I make baked goods!" Bow inspiring ordinary people, YES. THIS IS WHAT I WANTED FROM THIS EPISODE.


• "I'm a master archer who's out of arrows. But that never stopped me either." BOW IS SO GOOD.


• HE IS GIVING SUCH A GOOD SPEECH WHILE SURROUNDED BY BUBBLES FROM THE RANDOM BUBBLE BOT. GOOD WORK BOW, YOU BROUGHT YOUR OWN SHOUJO BACKGROUND.


• Okay, OFFICIALLY STOP DUCKING INTO ALCOVES, THEY ARE ALL FULL OF ROBOTS.


• This is the sort of magical girl team I want to be on. Taking out robots with icing and fizzy drinks! Being cute and adorable and GLASSING A DUDE. Using tea towels to throttle robots!


• "It's an honour, Princess Entrapta, I'm a huge fan of your work. Maybe not this work exactly, but your other work." YAY HE GOT TO HAVE HIS FAN MOMENT. AND HE WAS NOT EVEN PHASED BY THE TENTACLES.


• I love this team.


• I LOVE THIS TEAM, HELP, I WANT THERE TO BE A SPIN-OFF COMIC SERIES JUST ABOUT THEM.


• "Now's your chance, sonic arrow! I believe in you!" Did he just convince all the bots to murder the computer through the medium of Chekov's arrow? YES HE DID.


• I love that Adora still refers to She-Ra like she's a separate person, because this is good and interesting from a fic-writing perspective.


• "Kitchen Knights! Bakery Brigade! Pastry Patrol!" I WILL TAKE THIS ENTIRE SPIN-OFF COMIC, GIMME.


• Bow's tiny smile as he watches Glimmer and Adora run riot is so good.


• APPARENTLY NO ONE IS CAPABLE OF LEARNING, OKAY, FINE.
