spindizzy: (*blinding realisation*)

Thing that I am thinking about today:
  • The fact that neither Hannah nor Jess got wendigot (thank you for this word, [profile] rionaleonheart, it is such a good word.) while wandering around the mines means that they were either very lucky, or very earmarked for possession. I think Jess was lucky and Hannah was not.

  • The wendigos are clearly capable of recognising people and caring, because the handigo recognises Josh and carries him off instead of eating him, which means that there's a good chance that the handigo knows who she's trying to eat and doesn't care.

  • Wendigos killed by other wendigos don't release the angry screaming ghost.

  • If you blow up all of the wendigos in the house, that means that Josh is left trapped in the larder alone for however long it takes the authorities to go and investigate.

WELL THIS IS HORRIFYING but does perhaps explain why Mike technically can't get wendigot. Hannah can injure him so severely he can't make it out of the house before it blows up, but he'll always have just enough life left in him to flick his lighter if Sam dies.

Wendigos killed by other wendigos don't release the angry screaming ghost.

Huh, that never occurred to me! This is a really interesting observation. Obviously the way to permanently solve the wendigo problem on this mountain is to trap them all in a cage match.
