Pet Shop of Horrors| Disregard
G | 100 words | Count D, Leon Orcot | Set-post series | Written for the [community profile] drabble_zone challenge "Elephant" | D refused to acknowledge he was there.

D refused to acknowledge he was there, his nose practically in the air as he tried pretend nothing was wrong. Animals were whispering to each other behind the furniture, a customer came and went with a (normal?) bird, and through it all D ignored him like they were squabbling again. It felt familiar, even though Leon was lying on D's couch ten years and a hundred countries after they'd last seen each other.

But when D eventually set out the cups for tea, his hands trembled enough to make the crockery clatter.

And he set a place for Leon anyway.
