TODAY'S MENU FOR THE EMIYA FAMILY CONTINUES TO BE REALLY CUTE, YOU GUYS. And in this episode, my TOTALLY NOTE FAVOURITE FATE CHARACTER EVER shows up! Yay! (I don't know who IS my favourite character in Fate, for the record, but Lancer is one of the like THREE PEOPLE who treats Rin with the respect she deserves so I loooooove hiiiiiim.)

... I'm not saying that this reaction shot is literally just endless variations of LANCER I LOVE YOU but I'm not NOT saying that.

• Oh, he is making me hungry, because that list of food is GOOD.


• ... Emiya's Responsible Adult face when he decides that the fish is out of his budget is adorable.

• OF COURSE LANCER DOES THE FANCY POLE-TWIRLING THING WITH SIGNS. OF COURSE HE DOES.


• I have no idea why Lancer keeps being the Tori of the Fate universe (he has a new part-time job EVERY TIME I SEE HIM I SWEAR), but I am so here for him living his happiest life and having a normal job where he gets to sell fish and be confused by Emiya's existence.


• If it's any consolation, Emiya looks like the very concept of Lancer having a part-time job has given him a headache.


• I don't know why he's confused that Shiro does all of the cooking but I'm sure it'll be explained later.


• Lancer gently flirting with grandmas to sell fish is possibly the most pure thing I have seen today.

• ... I wonder what name Lancer puts on his ID badges at his jobs. Like, does he put his original name down?!


• In what world is salmon cheap?! *squints in working class*


• Look, I am just really happy that the universe gifted me with an anime about people who in other worlds Literally Fight To The Death but in this one just sort of awkwardly bond over cooking. It's adorable.


• Lancer buying his own fish to make sure that Shiro cooks for him is GOOD CONTENT.


• Especially because Shiro is so non-plussed by this.


• ... Who is even Lancer's master in this timeline?!


• So the division of labour is that Saber does laundry and Shiro cooks, this is good to know.


• LANCER IS SO TALL COMPARED TO SABER, HELP.


• "I came here for dinner," he says, while Saber is very clearly getting ready to THROW DOWN. God Lancer is the worst and I love him.


• Lancer: *casually drops bag on Shiro that it takes Shiro both hands to hold up* This is a stupid trope but I love it.


• ... Lancer, I know you're from a time period where it was safer to drink booze than water but BRO COME ON.

• I like how Shiro's immediate response to all of the booze is "We'll have to give this to Fuji-nee."


• ... Oh shit I need Lancer and Taiga to be friends. They can drink and throw down together, it'll be adorable. PLEASE TELL ME THAT THERE'S FIC ALREADY.

• I like how Fionn gets his eyes censored like he's a secret or something.


• I WANT HIS APRON THOUGH. ONLY MAYBE WITH CUTER PATTERNS.


• Recipe at the end again, with all of the disclaimers that if it kills anyone it's not my fault. ... Although to be honest, it actually looks like something even I could cook, which is interesting!

  Apparently, it was genuinely Sakura and Rider raving about Shiro's cooking, which is the CUTEST THING and also means that they just natter to Lancer about Shiro when they cross paths!


• Saber is INSTANTLY less suspicious now that she knows people have been bragging about Shiro's cooking.


• "Are you saying I need to have the King of Knights' permission to enjoy your cooking?!" YES, IT'S HER HOUSE.


• Taiga looking suspiciously at these extra shoes!


• Wait, Lancer looks like he recognises her!!!


• HE CALLS HER TAIGA-ONEE-CHAN!


• AND DOES BACKFLIPS WHEN HE GETS UP TO SAY HI


• AND THEY HIGH-FIVE BECAUSE THEY'RE HAPPY TO SEE EACH OTHER, AND THEN DANCE BECAUSE YAY DINNER


• ... They're so cute, save me, I'm dying.


• (Also she calls him Lancer so I assume that he does just go around introducing himself as that?! Which I guess is easier for Taiga to accept because Shiro's literally living with a girl called Saber.


• THEY ARE ARM WRESTLING AND TAIGA IS USING BOTH HANDS BUT CAN'T EVEN BUDGE HIM, I LOVE THEM BOTH.


• Saber being surrounded by shojo flowers when she eats is ALSO PURE AND SWEET.


• Awww, look at Lancer being suckered into family dinner! ;______;


• Lancer does the washing-up! This is cute!


• TAIGA AND LANCER GETTING DRUNK IN SHIRO'S LIVING ROOM WHILE SHIRO IS THERE LIKE "... HOW AM I THE RESPONSIBLE ADULT IN THIS HOUSE?" IS EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM THIS EPISODE. ALSO I SHIP IT. ALSO OMG YOU TWO ARE TERRIBLE, GO HOME.


• I need Rin to recognise Archer by his cooking, this is a trope that MUST HAPPEN!


• Okay, right, recipe! I have no idea what this would taste like, but the steps themselves sound straight-forward?
  
  1. First, before seasoning, sprinkle the fillets with a little sake, and salt them lightly on both sides. Leave them to marinate for five to ten minutes.
  
  
  2. Once the moisture is drawn out, wipe them down with paper towels.
  
  
  3. Next up, the onions: Cut them into thin slices. Do the same for the carrots.
  
  
  4. Separate the shimeji mushrooms.
  
  
  5. Then season the salmon with salt and pepper.
  
  
  6. Get out a piece of foil, spread the onions and carrots on top, sprinkle them with finely ground consommé (... Google tells me that a consommé is a clear soup, so maybe the show means like a stock?), then after you've placed the salmon and mushrooms on top, top it all off with a chunk of butter.
  
  
  7. Seal both ends of the foil, put the parcels in a pan with the lid on, then steam on low heat for 15-20 minutes, then garnish with parsley.
