It's amnesty week at [community profile] drabble_zone, so I bring you this thing from last year!

Petshop of Horrors | Dramatic
Teen (swearing) | 100 words | Leon Orcot, Count D | Set post-series, implied spoilers | Written for [community profile] drabble_zone prompt "End of the road." | He'd expected something more dramatic.

He'd expected something dramatic – D's fucked up family throwing him to the literal three-headed wolves again, maybe. Instead he got... This. The shop exactly how he remembered it. The animals staring at him, not like they're getting ready to attack, but like they're caught in the beat before the lightning strikes. D frozen mid-pour, tea overflowing from cup to saucer to table.

Everything Leon ever planned to say to D flies out of his head, so he goes with habit: he drops onto the sofa and nudges an empty cup under the spout. "So, sold any killer rabbits lately?"
