Alex doesn't ask Strand when was the last time you slept, even though not being the receiving end of that question would have made a nice change. He probably wouldn't even have asked her in return, which was as reassuring as it was – never mind. She can see it on his face, but his exhaustion looks more like wildness around the eyes than hers.

She's just so tired. If he told her he'd slept last night, she might have to scream. Besides, she can only fix one of these problems. Might as well solve the one that she can.
