Madoka becomes a magical girl sixteen days into this loop, and Homura knows that she's going to have to go back by Walpurgisnacht. But all of the time she would normally spend watching Kyubey until then is suddenly free, so she goes to Madoka.

Madoka's surprised at first, but too kind to send her away. They walk around town together, shying away from talk of witches, and the familiarity of it burns. She remembers doing this before, although Madoka won't.

Homura allows herself to think It will be like this after I beat Walpurgisnacht, and she reaches for her shield.
