spindizzy: Joshua looking smug at the camera. (Oh is THAT what you think?)

Q: Susan, are you still angry that the sequel movie took your ship and made it something unhealthy and creepy?
A: Yes, but I write it anyway.

I'm pretty sure that this doesn't count for femslash February because I suspect that I'm tying into Predatory Lesbian tropes here, but I'm not sure how to tell a story set after Rebellion that DOESN'T touch on them. GUESS IMMA HAVE TO LEARN.

Madoka Magica: Rebellion // Possession is nine-tenths of the law
G | 200 words | Homura/Madoka | Set post-Rebellion, so spoilers for series and movie | Homura kneels before her, which might be the wrong way around.

Homura flowed to her knees before Madoka's chair, resting her hands on top of Madoka's. Madoka gasped and stiffened. Homura felt almost giddy with delight – a goddess scared of the devil, even when the devil knelt at her feet! – and laced their fingers together.

"You don't need to worry about wraiths," Homura promised, her voice low. She took a liberty that she rarely allowed herself and pressed her lips to the back of Madoka's left hand. "You don't need to worry about anything." Then her right, to seal the promise. "I'll protect you from them. Every magical girl, everything I can control, will keep you safe."

"But what if I wanted to help?" Madoka asked, her hands tightening around Homura's fingers. "I could become a magical girl too—"

"You are what you were always meant to be." Homura always says it like a charm, like the weight of it will bind Madoka to this world with her; this time it felt like she said it too quickly. "You weren't meant to be a magical girl." Homura leaned up and pressed her lips to Madoka's cheek. "I'm building a world where you can be happy. You never need to worry."
