[Fic] Final Fantasy XII //

Don't ask me how long I spent on a Final Fantasy wiki looking up monsters to find one for this, it won't reflect well on me. :\ But I was on there anyway looking stuff up for a fic I'm writing for Nay, SO.

... Plus, I've had this open for like an hour and a half and not posted it because FFXII Let's Plays are apparently where I live now. I cannot even with Gideon Emery.

Fran was closest, trying to stick a sword in the Deidar's eye; it screeched like blades across metal, its flame blazing. They all reeled away from it with hands shielding their ears, but Fran caught the worst of it. Her ears went flat as she staggered, and she shrieked back in agony. Penelo reached for her, shouting "Fran?" over the ringing in her own ears.

Fran's sword flashed, and Penelo only kept her hand through the finest of reflexes. She felt herself ask "Fran?" again, though she couldn't hear it, and from the way Fran swayed upright, neither could she.
