This was written back in like January or February for [twitter.com profile] glempy, but I'm going through my diary for 2015 now and trying to convert things into postable form. It is... Not going as well as it could? This doesn't have much of a point, I'm afraid.

Sherlock Holmes // Tell it to the bees
G | 100 words | Holmes, Watson | Set after Holmes' retirement | He never understood about the bees.

Watson never asked for an explanation for Holmes' retirement pastime, nor did he receive one that he could perceive. It was enough that he could simply sit in the Holmes' gardens on his visits, far from the smog and the gloom of London, watching the bees bumble around while Holmes carried forth on his latest experiment. Watson could speculate, of course, and had (perhaps bees were the one thing with no connection to a case, perhaps he needed them for an experiment, perhaps —) but for the first time in their acquaintance, the true explanation was of no importance to him.
