Oh, I didn't post my rant from LAST week's installment of The Untamed and somehow IT GOT WORSE
So it turns out that I was angrier than I thought about episodes 23-24?
Every single cultivator of Lán Xīchén's cohort and older is power-hungry, greedy, and either complicit in or actually committed genocide and I just! Want to throw every single one of them into the sea! Possibly even starting with Lán Xīchén, because there are so many points where he could use his position and influence to say no! No, there's no reason to kill or imprison the surviving members of the Wēn clan when they've suffered as much as everyone else and if they're complicit in the Wēn Clan's crimes then so is everyone. No, you can't punish Lán Zhàn in a cruel and petty way when he could be helping to do something important. No, this is not an appropriate moment to tell the grieving war orphans that you want to marry one of them into your clan now that it's politically advantageous again.
And he doesn't. He makes a token protest, and then lets people do whatever it was they were doing anyway. It's not worse than anything Mèng Yáo does, but I think that's more a factor of how much of a fucking awful human being Mèng Yáo is.
... And the Jīn Clan laughed. They chased survivors down like animals, and they laughed.
So I think what I'm saying here is fuck every cultivation sect. I was saying that when I read the book, but now they're even worse, what the fuck.
