Noooooooo we hit the end and I'm not ready! I was enjoying having a sweet Fate show where no one died and everything was lovely! ;_;

• And we're back to where we started! New Year is here!


• "Our household sure is growing." *cries grossly*


• And even though they're not together, they're both looking at the snow! Ahhh why do basic narrative techniques work so well on me?


• Aww, Sakura and Shirou go home together! I wonder if they're going to cook together for new year's too!


• Oh hey, it's archery girl!


• TAIGA GET OUT FROM UNDER THAT KOTATSU.


• I love Taiga, but she has so many kids being her responsible adults.


• Awww, they have an old fashioned kettle on the heater!


• I love that Sakura apparently has her own key and can just let herself and Rider in whenever she wants.


• I just want everyone to move into the Emiya house and be happy!


• Rider has a part-time job too!


• Rider immediately becoming a sunbeam when she sits in front of the heater is beautiful.


• Sakura and Rider sitting next to the heater is so good, especially because Saber's looking very confused behind them.

• ... That's SO MANY ORANGES. SO MANY. But bless Taiga sharing her bounty like a good adult.


• That looks SO FANCY. I know he's like "This is a straightforward meal," but LOOK AT HOW FANCY THAT LOOKS.

• I love Saber and how she can just KEEP EATING. RESPECT TO MY GIRL.


• Awww, they're not having a sleepover, but all of them spending New Year's Eve together warms my heart! And Saber appreciating how GOOD it is that they can all be together like this! It's so peaceful and sweet, I love it.

• They changed the end credits just for this episode, and I just feel so squishy and tender about all of them!


• Hot pot recipe: Start with your konbu broth. Salt your fish and let it stand for ten to fifteen minutes. Slice your Welsh onions diagonally. (THAT IS A LEEK, SHIROU). Remove the core from the nappa cabbage. Cut the leaf parts into large chunks. Remove the base from the Enoki mushrooms, and separate the stems. Take the fish you left standing. Poor some hot water over it, then immediately plunge it into ice cold water. Then remove the excess water, and we're done with the prep work. When your water starts to boil, take out your konbu. Take some soy sauce, mirin, ginger, sake, and add salt to the broth. Start with the ingredients that take some time to cook first. Shungiku greens, welsh onions, clams... These can be added at the end.
  Zosui: Wash the rice with water to get rid of the starchiness and remove the excess moisture. Remove whatever's left in the pot and skim the broth. Add the rice. Cook on low to medium heat, and try not to stir it too much. Swirl in the beaten egg to cover it. Sprinkle some Mitsuba leaves over it all.

... So yes, to sum up: I really love Today's Menu for the Emiya family for how sweet and peaceful it is, and much focus it has on the family that the characters have built together. I am overcome with emotion about them, and I just – I know the reason that it works is because the main timeline is so horrible, but I would LOVE to have the main timeline bring more of this joy and happiness to it. It would probably destroy me, but in a good way?
