ARCHERRRRR!!!

You have NO IDEA how happy I am that we get an Archer-centric
episode, I LOVE this stupid trash fire. And I have DESPERATELY craved an
episode of this where Rin tastes his cooking and is like "Hmmm, why does
this style feel familiar?" or he knows all of her favourite foods without
asking, or he tastes Shirou's cooking and is like "Ahhh, I remember when I
finally perfected this recipe," or Shirou trying to improve his cooking
through seeing how Archer does it, or just! Archer! And food! It would
please me!

I find it interesting that this is the first time we see Archer's
face, two episodes before the end of the series, and also that they
seriously went with "HE CANNOT RELAX WHEN THERE'S WORK TO BE DONE,
REGARDLESS OF WHAT THAT WORK IS" as his defining personality trait.

Ahhhhhh Rin and Sakura are going to hang out, this is AMAZING and so
delightful and I love them!

(Their outfits are so cute!)

"Why bring me into it? ... You want me to carry your bags." AND HE SAYS
HE'LL DO IT ANYWAY, BLESS HIM.

Archer, are you an HOUR EARLY?

LANCERRRRRR!

Lancer, why are you trying to kidnap Shirou, don't you have a part
time job to be going to? ... Also yeah, let's be fair, I'm honestly
surprised that Shirou's actually resisting instead of being suckered into
whatever this plan is.

Archer: *attempts to stealthily make his escape*
Lancer: *teleports in front of him dramatically*

He's so cute in his waiter outfit, I kinda love it.

"You know how to cook, right?" OH MY GOD. I think the first time I
watched this episode with Lex I ACTUALLY SQUEAKED OUT LOUD.

So he's a waiter today, not a fishmonger or a florist. ... HOW DOES HE
KEEP FINDING THESE JOBS.

(Also, did you see that skippy little run he did to the door? Poor
precious baby.)

Archer: *SIGHS IN SUCKERED*

Man, Lancer played him like a fiddle, that's adorable. (I really want
Lancer and Archer to be friends, for the record. Or whatever, really, I
like them hanging out.)

So Lancer specifically recruited the best chef he could find to save
his part-time job any embarrassment? That's honestly sweet!

Lancer: Welcome! ^_^

Is the café being neutral ground then? I assume because Lancer doesn't
want to get fired? (... Seriously what is going on in this universe that
Lancer is just roaming around having every job going, America explain.)

*Deadpan monotone* "The important thing is that we're together, am I
right?" He is so stoic and Caster just CANNOT DEAL. ... I can't judge, I
remember some of the characters I have capslocked over.

Lancer: Welcome! ^______^
Saber: O.O

"It's like you show up everywhere." OH LOOK AT THAT LAMPSHADE, ISN'T IT
PRETTY, IT RAISES THE DEAD.

"Don't make me explain it," says the man who fell for a trick that I
have used on seven year olds.

"I can see there's a lot going on here," says Saber, staring at Caster
and her master.

The chef's suggestion... The chef who isn't there...

Is he... Weighing the frying pan like it's a weapon?

I love how casual and calm this entire series is, even when it's not
centering the actual Emiya household.

Saber: *PEERS INTENTLY AT ARCHER COOKING*

(I just think the fact that she has a handbag is really cute,
okay.)

Lancer: Welcome! ^_^

OKAY BUT RIN LOOKS SUPER FANCY WEARING SAKURA'S CLOTHES, THIS IS TOO
PRECIOUS.

Okay, apparently the only one who ISN'T too powerful is Archer,
weirdly, but also the side of the bowl is a really random place to crack an
egg.

Saber: *watches this cooking with a knife raised, ready to pounce*

It was simultaneously weird and cool to watch the omelette unfurl like
that! I wonder what the texture's like!

I love how Saber's joy straight up just lights up the whole café.

Archer: *waits for her reaction like he doesn't care*

HE MUST CARE, OKAY, I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS ABOUT ARCHER GETTING TO
COOL FOR PEOPLE.

"To think that you made this, Archer..." Saber says, after praising how
gentle and delicate the flavour is.

HE IS SO CALM AND I AM SO HAPPY FOR HIM.

That shot of him cooking alone makes me feel melancholy because noooo
he's all alooooone and Shirou's very rarely alone when he cooks – he's
either got someone in the kitchen with him or in the next room, or he's
cooking for a specific person? And I just feel some kind of ways about
Archer being alone and cooking for strangers.

Archer's FACE when he sees Rin! Omg!

He's so flustered, I love it.

I looooove hiiiiim. And Rin. And Lancer. EVERYONE IN THIS CAFÉ
BASICALLY.

She wants him to cook for her, and he's so happy to do it! *wails
quietly*

Saber is SO EXCITED to tell Shirou about Archer's cooking! And now
it's Shirou's turn to be dramatically semi-faceless!

OH MY GOD SHIROU YOU'RE SO COMPETITIVE, STOP THAT.

RECIPE: First, we'll start with the sauce. Chop your garlic and saute
it with olive oil. Add a can of tomatoes. And crushed cosommés. Add salt,
pepper and sugar. Then melt some butter in it and it's done. Next, coarsely
chop an onion, and thinly slice some mushrooms. Then dice the chicken
thighs. And these are your ingredients for the chicken rice. After you
saute your chicken in a frying pan, add the onions and mushrooms and saute
some more. Next, add some salt, coarsely ground pepper, crushed consommé,
and ketchup. Mix it thoroughly to temper the sourness. Add your white rice.
Fold it into the mixture. Then mix in the sauce, taking care not to let it
burn. The final part is the omlette itself. Heat some olive oil and butter
in a frying pan. Add a dash of salt, then pour in a beaten egg. Mix it up
with chopsticks. Shake the frying pan, and bring it to a half-cooked state.
When it's half-cooked, slide it over to one side of the frying pan, adjust
the shape, and flip it over. Keep flipping until the edge is on top. Then
slide it onto the chicken rice.
