[Fic] Castlevania | I cannot dream tonight

In something completely different, I have been sitting on this fic draft since April 2021 and finally finished it because my sleep cycle is a mess and apparently 3am is the perfect time for finally editing a fic I've been putting off. Title from I Miss You by Blink 182; shout out to AO3's tag system seeing me type "Blink" (for "Blink and you miss it OT3 agenda") and immediately going "No, wait, I know EXACTLY where you're going with this." Truly, it saved me when I realised I had ABSOLUTELY no idea what to title this.

Castlevania | I cannot dream tonight

Alucard woke up as his door crashed open, sword flying out of its sheath before he fully opened his eyes. It arced across the room in a flash of silver, and Alucard managed to stay its motion just before it skewered Belmont in the doorway. Not that Belmont seemed to care at all; he batted the sword out of the way like he might have done a cobweb.

Alucard is just trying to sleep. Everyone keeps piling into his bed.

Riddle me this batman: how has it been two years since I posted fic? It can't have been that long, can it?

Anyway, I wrote smut! For the first time ever! Literally in March last year, that I only just edited and finished now! And my brain basically made the same noise as a kettle boiling the entire time I did it, so I have no idea whether it's good or not! It was just that I got to Olivine's sex scene in chapter 4 and had Questions. ... Doesn't matter, it's done, it lives, I'm gonna link to it here and go bury my head for a while.

There's a trailer for the next series of My Next Life as a Villainess, and I'm feeling exceptionally valid in my "Mary and Alan team up for Catarina" headcanon! I only wrote like two half-scenes of it before I got distracted, but HEADCANON CONFIRMED. And my questions about "BUT WHO ARE THE OTHER TWO ROYAL SIBLINGS?!" might finally be answered!

Today in questions I had to ask twitter: "... Is using a quote from the charismatic christian movement as the title for a Bioshock Infinite fic too on the nose?"

(Once again, my habit of googling quotes before using them for anything has served me well, because I think if I'm gonna quote a prosperity gospel flavoured evangelical church leader, I should know that I'm doing that. Even if I don't know how to phrase an "I am not quoting this person because I support them OR their movement" citation note for AO3.)

Do you ever just have an idea, and you suddenly don't care how anachronistic or impractical it is? Because huh, that jumped me. (Weirdly, I'm pretty sure I started the bare bones of this fic in 2019, so BEFORE I learned how to make stuffed animals myself. Life imitates art!)

... Honestly it's so nice starting off the new year by finishing a fic from the old one, it feels a lot less "Oh god, my first fic of the year and it's this?!"
