There were forces one could appeal to, spirits and wiser beings that one could ask for guidance in important matters. Honlon might grow to be one of those, given time, but as it was, she was a child, and all three of her aspects were still attached to the world beyond what was seemly.
"I taught myself a lot," Elizabeth said. "It wasn't like I had anything else to do in my tower."
But of course, there are all of the other Elizabeths that she's connected to now – the ones who never spent any time in a tower, who learned other things. Who went to school like a normal girl, or roamed the country with Booker, or opened doors side by side with the Luteces.
And she takes all of those Elizabeths with her when she opens the door to Rapture.
